Notes…words…rest in a grave

to breathe them

if there is not a dancer

to dance them

and light their fire under the ashes

of their quietude…

IL BALLERINO

(L’anomalia necessaria*)

Con quell’aura maestosa

e inebriata

   di passo in passo il danzatore beffa la gravità.

Poi, immerso nel suo desiderio tutto

allarga lo spazio tentato dal vuoto

  e dall’aria…

La sua danza era una di quelle anomalie

dell’anima

che la parola non dirime…

* L’anomalia necessaria (o la bella anomalia, se si preferisce) è un nostalgico sentire qualcosa di mancante per tracciare l’orbita armoniosa della propria vita. E’ quel sentire in sé quel dèmone che tenta e spinge a cercare la pienezza dell’amore, lo svelamento di una conoscenza, la pregnanza di un verso o la perfezione di un gesto…

Vladimir Vasilev chiamò questo sentimento “una fata morgana nel deserto” che attira e, se raggiunta, svanisce per poi ricomparire sempre più in là.

Mancando la parola per esprimere compiutamente questo numinoso sentimento, l’artista è indotto a danzarlo, a divenire poeta-ballerino, pittore-ballerino, filosofo-ballerino, musicista-ballerino, atleta-ballerino, scienziato ballerino…della gaia scienza dello spirito libero.

THE DANCER

(The necessary anomaly *)

With his aura majestic

and inebriated

step by step the dancer mocks gravity.

Then, all immersed in his desire

he enlarges the space…tempted

by the vacuum and the air.

His dance is one of those anomalies

 of the soul...

that the word does not mend.

                                                                                       

*The necessary anomaly (or the beautiful anomaly, as you like it) is a sort of nostalgic feeling of something missing to draw a harmonious orbit of our life.

It is the feeling of the presence of a daimon inside that pushes us to try to find the fulfilment of a love desire, the 'impossible' significance of a verse or the perfection of a gesture…

Vladimir Vasiliev called this feeling "a mirage in the desert" which attracts us and, if reached, vanishes.

Missing the word to fully express this numinous feeling, the artist is induced to dance it and to become a poet-dancer, a philosopher-dancer, a musician-dancer, an athlete-dancer, a scientist-dancer ...of the 'gay science' of the free spirit.
